College is an Adventure at Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe

As students return to campuses all across the country, university marketing marketing departments are kicking into high gear with fresh promotions and novel ways to connect with new students on campus. Sticker sheets are just one way to make your message stick.

Since it's back to school time, it's a perfect moment to highlight efforts by schools and college across the country as they welcome new students to their campuses.

Sierra Nevada College Tahoe built a sticker sheet that features two peel offs serving as SNC Tahoe Badges. The two peels on the sticker sheet represent day and night over the lake, with each sticker in a different color palette. The rest of the sheet contains the college's branding and slogans, "College is an Adventure" and "6,224 feet above normal." Students that attend SNC Tahoe will have a fun sticker to put on their laptops, notebooks, dorm room doors and anywhere else that a circle sticker seems appropriate. The background has outlines of evergreen trees and really gives contrast to the peel offs.

SNC Tahoe is Nevada’s only accredited, private, four-year institution, and with a location high in the Sierras on the shores of legendary Lake Tahoe, it's 6,224 feet above normal, just like their sticker says. There are over 30 majors from outdoor leadership & sustainability to ski business & ceramics in this liberal arts college that was founded in 1969. The Eagles have won national championships in both men's and women's ski and snowboard events. And what a setting for their campus! Lake Tahoe is a 1,645-foot deep freshwater lake nestled high within the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the border between California and Nevada. The campus is on the northeast corner in the town of Incline Village, and it's no wonder that many students at SNC Tahoe focus on environmental studies.

Lehman College CodeJam 2017

We are excited to announce our sponsorship of the first-ever CodeJam at Lehman College in New York. CodeJam was started by the chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) at this Bronx-based senior college that's part of The City University of New York system. Their goal is to celebrate Lehman College students’ diverse skill-set and focus on innovating for the university community.

Lehman College is a very diverse university made up of students from many different backgrounds. When NSBE heard SHPE was joining Lehman College, NSBE decided that it would be best to collaborate with the group to better serve our university’s expanding, diverse community. As part of that new alliance with one another, the group decided to design a new combination logo, and that's what they printed up for their custom die cut sticker. They started by joining the NSBE green and SHPE blue colors with a gradient that meets in the middle, which represents the new community they have created. The logo is made of two shapes that form an upright letter N (representing NSBE) and a sideways letter S (representing SHPE). Pretty cool use of typography and shape on a custom event sticker.

CodeJam is open to Lehman College students from all majors and skill levels, and it's an opportunity for participants to put their classroom learning into a real-world settings, while also making new connections and creating something innovative for Lehman College. We sponsor many different kinds of events, but lately we've been working with some technology-focused initiatives like hackathons, robotics competitions, and Startup Weekends. We love seeing youth involvement in entrepreneurial activities that can provide an educational, aspirational public service to their community.

Some background on where this all began, from the group themselves.
In Fall 2014, a group of Lehman College students banded together to establish NSBE at Lehman College and now we have partnered with the Lehman SHPE chapter to organize workshops, study sessions, talks/seminars, hackathons, and several other events throughout the year to support the goals of NSBE & SHPE and help our members from all backgrounds and majors achieve success in academia and their future careers.

You can connect with the teams and the event on their social media streams: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

University of Northern Colorado Snapchat

In today's college landscape, there are many tools for communicating with students, faculty, staff and families, and as the old saying goes: you have to meet your audience on their turf. So, the team at University of Northern Colorado in Greeley is doing just that with special targeted Snapchat stickers. If you're not completely familiar with Snapchat, it's a personal messaging system based on visual messages that disappear after a period of time. Not entirely the domain of the young, this social media platform has taken the media world by storm since it's inception a few years ago, and now major university's are hopping on board to promote their unique brand of education and mission.

These custom stickers feature the university's scannable Snapchat code, plus linked to every other social platform used by the school. By adding this decidedly analog layer next to their digital channels means that the folks in Greeley have a distinct presence in the real world, too, and one that's viral in a non-tech way. We love to print custom stickers for schools of all sizes and levels, whether it's the local PTO or a top-tier university like UNC-Greeley. What's really great is that the entire university is embracing social media, with each department promoting their own accounts via the university page.

You can connect with the UNC Bears on all of their social platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and of course Snapchat.

Sponsorship Desk: BCC Hacks 2016

Berkshire Community College (BCC) IN Pittsfield, Massachusetts is hosting the first-ever BCC Hacks this weekend April 29 & 30. BCC Hacks (a member of Major League Hackathon) is organized by students for students. If you're a hacker, admission and food are free (Bonus!). The organizers envision this inaugural session of BCC Hacks as "a place to meet new people, learn something, build something, and dream something."

They welcome everyone — from the most experienced hackers and builders to the thinkers and the curious who have never heard of a hackathon. They want you to attend and learn something new, solve problems, and build something cool. This will be a 24-hour hackathon that encourages learning, collaboration, growth, thinking, and innovation. Students from throughout New England are invited to participate.

They have a fun tech-inspired design for their sponsored stickers, with their event logo in a blue-green contrasted font display with what look to be network tendrils radiating from the center. Trippy. Cool. Hip.

We are stoked for the participants and organizers to slap these stickers on their laptops, tablets and notebooks.

Meet Tyler, StickerGiant's Marketing Assistant

Tyler Lis StickerGiant

Meet Tyler Lis, StickerGiant’s Marketing Assistant and Silver Creek High School’s 2014 Colorado State Champion Freestyle Swimming and the Denver’s Post’s All-Colorado boys swimming team.

Yesterday was a special day for Tyler as he signed his letter of intent to swim for Northwestern University in the 200 backstroke, 200 IM, and 400 IM. It was not an easy decision with schools such as, Boston University and University of Denver considered but Tyler knows he found his fit.

National Signing Day is an exciting time for high school athletes around the country. It’s the first step in a new journey and a celebration of the hard work that it took to get there.

On top of becoming a state swim champion, taking classes, and finding a university to attend; Tyler has been busy at StickerGiant sinking his teeth into the business world. From day one, he dove into the front line of marketing, making a direct impact on adding a personal touch to our customer relationships. He shows enthusiasm and passion for everything he gets involved with, which is the StickerGiant way.

We want to congratulate Tyler on all his accomplishments, and we wish him the best of luck as he jumps into the fast lane in Chicago and at Northwestern University.
