Method + Madness Conference | PHXDW 2016

Method + Madness | PHXDW 2016

Design is the method and the madness to pretty much everything. At StickerGiant, we have the responsibility to turn great designs into great stickers everyday. This is why we are so excited to be a sponsor at another year of AIGA Arizona's Method + Madness Conference | PHXDW.

The Method + Madness Conference is happening this Saturday and Sunday as the main event of Phoenix Design Week.
"It’s a two-day grassroots conference organized by community volunteers for fellow designers, illustrators, writers, and UX professionals. Method + Madness brings together world-class speakers and local experts for two full days of actionable insights, hands-on education, and fire-fueling inspiration."

This year's conference is exploring the concept of Flux. This is, simply put, about adapting, as designers, to the audiences you're trying to reach and balancing the time to create something within the chaos.  Speakers will be addressing this at a lot of the talks this year as creatives from the industry gather for education and fun.

The custom logo sticker for this year is incredible. It's a full color design with many little details worked into the design as cranes are building over the pink type, bricks are falling into place, there is a pipe line running through, paint brush laying down ink all to spell out the "Method + Madness."  This sticker is bound to be a hot item for laptops, tablets and more as attendees grab them to slap on their gear.

Thanks to AIGA Arizona and PHXDW for giving us the opportunity to make stickers for a super fun design event. We are honored to be in the list of sponsors that help make an event like this amazing.

Follow along this weekend for all the hot news and topics coming out of Method + Madness Conference | PHXDW 2016 on their Twitter.

Creative Works Conference 2016

It's time to "Build with Conviction" as designers and creatives from around the country are gathering for the Creative Works Conference this week.

In Memphis, Tennessee October 6th through the 8th, the Creative Works Conference is assembling some super talented individuals for education and fun. There are going to be great talks and workshops on graphic design, blogging, illustration and a lot more related to ad and brand creation.

As part of their event, they wanted to show off their illustrated logo design for the Creative Works Conference. There was no better way to do that than custom die cut stickers. They mocked up their heart in hand design as a stand alone sticker and two separate event logos stickers in black and yellow.

There is nothing better than showing off illustrations to a group of designers with custom stickers. We are super excited and geeked out to be a sponsor for this great event and in the likes of some amazing creative companies. We wish everyone a productive and fun few days in Memphis at the Creative Works Conference.

WordCamp Orange County 2016

WordCamp Orange County will be blasting off this weekend at the University of California-Irvine in the The Cove at the Applied Innovation building. WordCamps are a great place to learn meet, talk, and immerse yourself in everything WordPress. From the absolute beginner to the hardest of hardcore developers, WordCamp Orange County will have something for everyone.

Their sticker sheet this time around is based on a space theme, and while it's simple in execution, the colors and variety of rockets have this sheet as one of our new faves around the sponsorship desk. Plus, OC WordCamp reskinned their entire WordPress version of their website in a space theme, with interactive elements and on-point branding across all of the pages and navigation. Out of this world stuff, people. Check out a sample below.

OC WordCamp even has a special Snapchat geofilter for the weekend so WordCampers can select it at The Cove to tag snaps. And from what we've heard in past editions, the OC WordCamp karaoke afterparty is legendary. Follow them at wordcampoc by searching within in the app, or use their Snapcode to them.

WordCamp Orange County will have two tracks of sessions, plus speakers, workshops and karaoke for designers and developers, bloggers and beginners, business owners and burgeoning writers.

As always, we're over the moon to be with such a interstellar group of sponsors. Check them out and see what they can offer for you if you're a WordPress aficionado.

Sponsorship Desk: Create Upstate

Create Upstate is a design conference unlike any other, bringing together Upstate NY and beyond in a celebration of design that features a stacked schedule of speakers and info-fueled workshops. Their sticker design features the Empire State inside a circle and is printed on our premium white stock. It gives the colors a great pop, and it will be be perfect for attendees to slap laptops and notebooks.

Sky Armory in Armory Square will play host for sessions, and Syracuse Media Group will be the workshop venue. Topics include lettering, starting your dream design shop, calligraphy, how to make accessible websites, ad designing for the long run. There's also a marketplace, with a mix of local and national goods that will serve up new gear for the studio.

We're proud to be part of a group of awesome sponsors, including the folks at AIGA Upstate NY that serve as the welcoming committee for workshop attendees and Coffee With Creatives. Between the full days and the parties and after party, there will be no shortage of inspiration and networking. One highlight will be the Student Design Challenge Showcase that takes place on Friday, with a winner being announced later in the day.

Crop 2016: A Graphic Design Conference

Sponsored stickers will be visiting Crop 2016 down in Baton Rogue (Geaux Tigers!). Creatives will be gathering near the banks of the Mississippi in downtown at the Manship Theater at the Shaw Center for the Arts and at Creative Bloc for two days of workshops and speakers.

Crop is a first-time event coming to southern Louisiana, and the organizers are working hard to build an atmosphere where people who live and work creatively can meet, greet, learn, inspire and be inspired. If you are in the region, tickets are available, so go create community with them. They promise full days of stories, inspiration and tall tales from top creatives. And of course, no creative event is complete without an awesome wrap party (big ups to Roux House for hosting!).

We love their custom sticker design with the special type font that we "cropped" out as a custom shaped sticker that will look great on laptops and tablets of attendees.

Inspiration in design is all it takes to ignite a creative person on a new path. With this collective at Crop 2016, we know great things will happen and we look forward to future stickers from this meeting of the minds.

Mukee Designs

Artisan of the Mile High City, Derek Keenan of Mukee Designs, elevates the concept of upcycling to a unique and colorful level. Old skateboards and found objects find new life as wearable art as each earring, belt buckle, and necklace are made from skateboard decks that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Serving two years in the Peace Corps in the small west African country of Gambia inspired Keenan to re-think consumption and what we consider garbage, and so Mukee Design was born.

Imperfections are celebrated as each scratch and scuff contribute to the raw, one of a kind patterns and texture unique to Mukee Design's creations. The Lorax would approve, as all Mukee pieces are handmade locally using reclaimed materials so you can feel good about spending your hard earned green this holiday season.

Skateboards and Star Wars imagery came together in Deathstar Blues, a exhibition at Black Book Gallery in Denver which featured Mukee mastermind's sculpture of a Star Wars styled AT-AT made from you guessed it… reclaimed skateboard decks. Get on board and let StickerGiant help you create your own stickers.
