Muirwood Reclamations



One of a kind goods can be hard to find but Muirwood Reclamations is doing just that by reusing materials to make an assortment of useful products and decor for the home.

From the outskirts of Chicago comes a husband and wife team that started Muirwood Reclamations. Scott and Kristin Fischer had a need for a dining room table and so they used reclaimed woods to build the table of their dreams. In using reclaimed materials they started building not just tables, but anything from crayon holders for kids to a coat rack using old railroad spikes.

Their latest creation was in association with a local steel factory in Itasca, Illinois as they repurposed real railroad spikes into durable bottle openers. This useful invention was even chosen by The Grommet as a featured new product.

In selling their products on Etsy, they have come to us for promotional stickers featuring their logo and also some runs of barcode matte labels for their different items. There are many steps to success in business and launching new products. Short, simple and to the point. Those are the basics for every great sticker that’s trying to promote, well, anything, and something you should keep in mind. You already know about using stickers as a promotional tool for your existing clients and those targeted audiences you’re trying to reach, but have you ever thought of a clever sticker as a fundraising tool?

It’s an easy concept: you have a cause you need to get the word out about, and need funding to do so. To make money you sometimes have to spend a little money, and stickers are an exceptional way to make a low-cost return on your investment.

You can use stickers for raffles, too – they’re fun and who doesn’t love a little something free? Sell stickers for a nominal fee ($1 each = 1 raffle entry, for example) and then hold the raffle close to your event. Give away stickers to everyone you meet. Local watering holes like Great Storm Brewing have learned how to execute this brand of customer evangelism with ease. "We love blending the traditional with the rebellious in our brewing and our life and our stickers reflect that," says co-founder Lynn Jacobs. Her words reflect an identity that beer fans are willing to live by, and nothing spreads the word better than stickers.

The best way to imagine sticker marketing is as the real-life version of the Like button. Social media outlets encourage people to connect online; but if you have a brand that encourages engagement, stickers inspire fans to build communities in an offline setting. Stickers are an easy way for people to represent their brand loyalty – and in the process, they evangelize your products or services.

• Keep your message fresh yet consistent.

• Be aware of those around you: If stickering gets out of hand, clean it up. “When we cater events, the first thing we ask organizers is how they feel about stickers.”
