YOWZA! Plenty of heroic action on these WordCamp Orange County sticker sheets

WordCamp-Orange-County-2016-Sticker-Sheet-blog

KA-POW! These heavy-hitting, action-hero themed WordCamp Orange County sticker sheets will be going home with every superhero WordCamp attendee after this weekend's gathering of WordPress enthusiasts.

They went all-in on a "fighting words" superhero comic theme modeled on the Adam West-era Batman, and this sticker sheet is stocked with 11 different stickers. There are three event-name stickers and then a truly creative and interactive set of peels that feature the words Kaboom!, Ka-Pow!, Zap!, Yowza!, Boom!, Pow! and some empty action bursts to fill in with the word of your choice. If you go to their website, you'll see that this design and branding persists throughout the site for a common visual language. They have cool web badges for attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers, and you know we'll be sporting ours on our social feeds all weekend long.

We wanted to give a shoutout to the organizers and the design team in Southern California for one of the most-unique sticker sheets we've seen in a while. We used a similar design on our yearly cookbook, and it's been a fun thing to throw in every order for our customers.

If you want to learn about how to set up a sticker sheet, our Artwork page has some of the relevant specs. What's great about sticker sheets is that you can have multiple designs on one sheet, and you can really get creative with colors and shapes. We digitally die cut all of the cut lines, so you can have nearly any custom shape that you want for the sheet itself or the stickers that go on the sheet.

This video about artwork guidelines explains how cut lines work and how to set up a file for custom sticker printing.

Wapuu The Traveling WordPress Ambassador Visits Managua, Calgary, Halifax and Portland, Maine

WordCamp-Halifax-Maine-Calgary-Managua-2017-sticker-sheet

Everyone's favorite WordPress mascot, Wapuu, is sprouting some serious wings (and antlers? and claws?) this weekend as he visits four different cities on this beautiful blue marble we call Earth. What's fun is that we get to play a little "Who Wore It Best?" with this post, as Wapuu is just all over the place with his fashion sense today.

And what an ambassador for the web's favorite development platform he makes! In this edition, Wapuu takes on the local flavor in a major way, carrying a jicaro cup for hydration in Nicaragua, growing moose antlers in Maine, turning in a lobster in Nova Scotia and rocking a cowboy hat in Alberta. It's these whimsical designs that make WordCamps so much fun to sponsor here at StickerGiant.

We get to see awesome sticker sheets, and we learn about all of these new places that Wapuu travels. He's almost like our own Flat Stanley, instead he's a world-traveling sponsored sticker. Knowing that these communities are gathering and talking about the potential of websites built on WordPress is why we're in this game, and we want to make sure that all of our organizing teams get a big virtual high five from the team here at the StickerGiant Sponsorship Desk.

We are going to visit Nicaragua first, then head to Western Canada before moving east to the Atlantic Seaboard in Nova Scotia and Maine.

WordCamp Managua 2017

WordCamp-Managua-2017-sticker-sheet

WordCamp Managua has quite a sticker sheet, with an event sticker Wapuu holding a jicaro cup of a traditional Nicaraguan drink, a Motmot rainforest bird (locals call it Guardabarranco, or ravine-guard) wrapped around the WordPress logo, and two beautiful peels that feature a misty mountain and tranquil lake. The sessions all look awesome, and it's a beautiful country to explore, so we hope all these WordCampers can get out and about.

WordCamp Calgary YYC 2017

WordCamp-Calgary-2017-sticker-sheet

In Calgary at WordCamp YYC, we have cowpoke Wapuu giving a nod to the Calgary Stampede, a massive July rodeo and festival that has put "Cowtown" on the map. There are a few badges and city mashups on the sheet, with a total of six stickers that really bring out the event branding. This is the 5th annual WordCamp Calgary, and we are excited to celebrate with these stickers. And happy 150th birthday Canada!

WordCamp Halifax 2017

WordCamp-Halifax-2017-sticker-sheet

Now heading east to WordCamp Halifax, we have a completely reimagined Wapuu taking on the costume of Lobster Wapuu. This is a great take on our cuddly friend, and he's surrounded by a host of WordPress logos, and a mini version of himself. Two Wapuus on one sheet, nice! Then of course they have the unofficial motto of the WordPress community: Code Is Poetry. Indeed, a well-written piece of code is truly a lyrical thing, and we know that everyone who leaves a WordCamp takes with them at least a stanza or two or true poetry within web development. We loved following along on their blog as they unveiled their design--it made for a cool rollout and helped build the excitement.

WordCamp Portland, Maine

WordCamp-Portland-Maine-2017-sticker-sheet

Ending back in the United States, we're grooving on Moose Wapuu at WordCamp Portland, Maine. Plus there are some lovely conifers and a shining sun on the event sticker, and a couple WordPress logos in the yellow and green swatch that their design team picked. Year after year this team brings fresh graphics to our printers, and we love to see where they let their imagination take them.

Wapuu Setting Sail for WordCamp Jacksonville 2017

WordCamp-Jacksonville-Sticker-Sheet-2017-Wapuu

Our dear friend Wapuu will be rigging his ship and shoving off for WordCamp Jacksonville this week. The design team behind this sticker sheet really packed in some great icons on this edition. They've got Wapuu in a United States Navy "dixie cup" hat, a sweet WordPress logo compass, two shining sun peels with WordPress logos, and a nicely branded event logo that ties together the entire nautical theme perfectly. We love printing WordCamp stickers because of the creativity involved and the local flavor that each events brings to our printers.

If you're not using WordPress, well then you're in the minority of web users. In a recent study from ManageWP, a WordPress site management service, they report that "74.6 million sites depend on WordPress, WordPress-related keywords score 37 million searches per month, 22% of new U.S. registered domains run on WordPress and there are six new WordPress.com posts every second." Those are some serious numbers, and it shows why WordCamps are so important. They bring people together to talk about WordPress and how to evolve the platform.

As you'll see on their site, they have a diverse tech crowd that comes together.
WordCamps allow anyone who is interested in WordPress to come network and learn from members of the community. Everyone from brand-new users to experienced developers are encouraged to attend. WordCamp Jacksonville will welcome attendees such as: Bloggers, Business owners, Website hobbyists, Plugin developers, Marketers, Social media experts, Designers, SEO experts, Content strategists

Big thanks to venue sponsor Keiser University on Jacksonville's Southside. Keiser University is a private non-profit university. Keiser provides educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels in traditional and online delivery formats. Attendees will have plenty to take in, including a KidsCamp where the younger will be introduced to the world of WordPress and help them learn or improve upon their development, design, and use skills! After the day is complete, they leave with their very own WordPress.com site up and running. That's the kind of community we're looking to foster with these sponsorships, one that gives back and looks forward at the same time.

There will be a fully stocked Happiness Bar, a WordCamp staple all around the world. This  is a super laid back place to ask any WordPress questions you may have. But even if you’re more advanced, there’s room in the Happiness Bar for you, too. It can be a great place to have code reviewed and to give back to the community. Naturally after a long day of coding, the After Party will be where everyone lets loose. Thanks to Blue Bamboo for hosting.

We wish everyone a great WordCamp, and we hope there's inspiration from the speakers. Thanks to all of the organizers for all of their hard work leading up to this weekend.

Sticker shoutout to social innovation in Zacatecas, female entrepreneurship in Guadalajara, and Travel Tech in NYC

Startup-Weekend-Women-Guadalajara-Zacatecas-New-York-Travel-2017-sponsored-stickers-sheets-die-cuts

We are heading to three Techstars events this weekend, with two Startup Weekends in Mexico and one in New York City. Each location has their own topic of concentration for the weekend, just like they each have a distinct sticker. There will be a couple colorful and creative sticker sheets and one custom die cut sticker at these events, and we are excited for all of these participants as they find inspiration and put their ideas into reality.

Teams will be composed of individuals that come from business, creative and software worlds. Over the weekend these groups will discuss and build the various components of the idea and possible business, taking into consideration administration, finance, marketing, technology, engineering, graphic and web design, architecture, animation, and art. This mix of talent and personality helps create the setting for innovation, and we'll start our tour of these events with the two in Mexico before traveling to a travel themed event in New York City.

Startup Weekend Women Guadalajara 2017

We are starting in the State of Jalisco in Western Mexico at Startup Weekend Women Guadalajara, where they seek to encourage women's participation in entrepreneurship and technology in a safe environment. Their sticker sheet features nine tear-offs, with Startup Weekend logos and branding, plus some Techstars love and a couple sponsor logos. What a great use of space to incorporate all of these kiss cuts (where the sticker gets cut, but not the backing) onto the sheet in one layout. Kudos to the design team.

Thank you to venue sponsor Reto Zapopan, which is a program promoted by the Municipal Government of Zapopan. This space provides entrepreneurs with resources in a comprehensive program that provide consulting, mentoring, financing, linking and internationalization. They are looking for entrepreneurs who stand out for their valuable ideas, companies and initiatives. And of course without the organizers, mentors and judges, there would be no event, so shoutout to them.

Startup Weekend Social Innovation in Zacatecas

Heading over to Zacatecas, the capital and largest city of the State of Zacatecas, for Startup Weekend Mega Centro (Vertical Innovación Social) 2017, where the central theme will be social development. They aspire to drive innovation in four key sectors for the economy of the center of the country. Their sticker sheet has seven peels, with the event name Mega Centro dominating the sheet, and two fun Startup Weekend beakers in magenta and black-tinged blue. There are four colorful stickers that have the four topics of Mobility, Travel, Social and Agroindustry that the teams will address. Again, the design team form SWCentro knocked it out of the park as far as economy of visuals, use of colors and keeping the event branding on point. Well done.

Without the location, this event couldn't take place (right?) and the Zacatecas campus of the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (or Tecnológico de Monterrey or simply as Tec), is providing the space for the creativity and energy of this gathering. This institution, known as ITESM has 31 campuses in 25 cities and it's one of the most academically recognized universities in the Spanish speaking world.

Startup Weekend Travel Tech New York 2017

Back up in the US, we are in the Big Apple with a slick custom die cut sticker that has a Startup Weekend beaker taking flight, which is perfect for this Travel and Tech themed edition. The lab people in the beaker are travel ready, and the plane is sitting on cloud in the sky that features the event branding. The whimsy on this sticker is just what carefree travel feels like, and this sticker will travel well. The team at Startup Weekend NYC team did a great job organizing and designing this event.

At Startup Weekend Travel Tech New York 2017, teams will be focusing on solving problems and filling gaps in the travel industry. The challenge from the organizers (thanks to them by the way!) is that teams will let their own experiences and desire for travel inspire them. The ideas can cover the gamut of tourism and travel, be it local or global.
Whether you have ideas to improve NYC subways systems or to make travel around the world easier, the ultimate objective of this event is to empower you to take any idea from concept to creation!

Big ups to Voyager HQ on 137 West 25th Street. They empower travel startup founders with connections to partner & investment opportunities, a clubhouse & coworking space in NYC, & industry professionals

WordCamp Torino 2017 Sticker Sheet

WordCamp-Torino-2017-Sponsored-Sticker-Sheet

With WordCamp sticker sheets, we often get to print creative and locally themed artwork. The organizing teams for these events really have fun with the sticker real estate on a sticker sheet by throwing in a couple Wapuu peels and original WordPress logos for their event goers. We really love the spires of the Turin Cathedral (or Duomo to locals) that adorn two of the stickers. With a total of six stickers in a 4x6-inch space, this sticker sheet has a lot to peel and stick for these WordCamps participants.

Follow the trend #WCTRN by hopping on the WordCamp Turino Twitter feed. It will be active before the weekend, with Contributor Day will take place the day before, where everyone can participate in the growth and development of the WordPress platform.

Big shoutout to the organizers for all their work behind the scenes, getting ready for the big weekend, and because these events are all about location, a massive StickerGiant appreciation to venue host Toolbox Coworking has offered up two former industrial buildings that they have adapted to provided co working areas that are comfortable and equipped for a WordCamp Torino 2017 take over. The rest of the year, Toolbox Coworking supports the entire Turin entrepreneur community. It's the dedicated volunteers and generous businesses that help make WordCamps a success, and as always we are proud to be a part of the community that helps power nearly 40% of the modern web.

WordCamp Miami and San Diego 2017

Wordcamp-Miami-San-Diego-Sponsored-Sticker-Sheets-2017

We're on two southern coasts in America this weekend sponsoring custom sticker sheets at WordCamps, one of our favorite events to provide in-kind stickers for attendees and organizing teams. Both of these sheets highlight what we love about the WordPress community: great design and creative approaches to problem solving. With only a little bit of space, sticker sheets offer a lot of options for your artwork.

WordCamp Miami is one of the ultimate WordPress meetups, especially at this time of year. No matter if you're a blogger, marketer, student, eCommerce store owner, designer, there's a track for you. There's a even a workshop for Kids where GoDaddy, a fellow sponsor, will be providing basic hosting and domain name account to all kids on Saturday. Pretty cool.

But let's dive in their sticker sheet: look at this custom design for WordCamp Miami this year. Talk about instant classic, with plays on some of the best movies of all time. There's a Back to the WordCamp peel, a Raiders of the Lost CMS, I am a WordCamp Goonie, a Stranger Things cutout, a GI Joe themed sticker, and some Transformers with WordPress logos. What a tour de force of design and creativity from left-field. We see a lot of WordCamp sticker sheets, and this one is one of a kind.

WordCamp Miami is one of the longest-running WordCamps and one of the largest volunteer-run community tech events in Miami. There will be over 800 bloggers, developers, marketers, and kids on this weekend during their ninth gathering.

WordCamp San Diego is a (naturally) laid-back, local affair for Southern Californians gather for world’s favorite platform: WordPress. The San Diego WordPress community is an active group, and they always bring in a star-studded list of inspiring speakers, generous sponsors (we love WordCamps!) and an enthusiastic and diverse group of attendees. This year WordCamp San Diego will be returning to the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in downtown, close to many popular attractions, hotels, and restaurants.

They had fun with their sticker sheet, including a beach-ball hugging Wapuu, and some nautical peel offs, with a sailboat, a WordPress-logo-as-sun peel, a mask and snorkel (oh how we'd love to be diving in an ocean at the moment) and a fish and seagull pairing. You can create a fun story with these characters. You can practically feel the sand between your toes, hear the waves and feel the breeze. This sheet finishes off with a Ron-Burgundy approved "Stay Classy" mini event sticker with the date of this year's WordCamp San Diego.

At StickerGiant, WordPress is where we create our sticker stories. If you're not up to speed with WordPress, here's the quick skinny: WordPress powers a reported 60 million websites, and provides a free, open-source platform for website management and blogging.  It's been around since 2003, and it's a great way to get into web design, eCommerce and creative expression on the internet.
