Happy Thanksgiving, Chore Monsters!

ChoreMonster

We all have many things to give thanks for this Thanksgiving.  But does everyone vanish when it's time to clear the table? Wouldn't it be great if the offspring took charge without being asked?

ChoreMonster to the rescue!

The trick, they say, is to make those chores more engaging and rewarding. "ChoreMonster is a suite of web and mobile apps that help make chores fun for kids." They've racked up great coverage from media outlets including The New York Times, Wired Magazine, Mashable, and Gizmodo.

The bottom line? If chores are fun, they'll get done.

Could your kids "suddenly find themselves wanting to do chores?"

It's a super cool idea. With monsters.

And stickers!

Chore Monster

Remember when weekends were fun? No school, no work, just doing whatever you felt like from dawn til the wee smalls? Yeah, neither do we. Seems weekends are made for 2 things: chores and convincing either yourself or someone else to do said chores. Enter Chore Monster, the digital taskmaster that aims to make Saturdays fun again! They've been getting some nice press and we can see why:
ChoreMonster is a suite of web and mobile apps for parents and kids that aims to make chores fun. Kids can earn points by completing chores that they can turn in for personal rewards like ice cream, an hour of Xbox, or even a canoe trip. Parents can enjoy a simple, hassle-free, digital system that takes the tension out of family chores. Our mission at ChoreMonster is to improve the lives of parents and children with the tools they use every dayThe site (and eventually the iPhone/iPod Touch app) is divided into two separate areas — one for parents and one for kids (so that we can appeal visually, functionally and interactively to both audiences). A parent registers with the site, adds their child (or children), creates and assigns point values to each chore, then creates a reward for that child that they earn by saving up points. Kids have their own section where they check on current and upcoming chores, let their parents know if they're done, view potential rewards, and along the way gain various Monsters.

Sounds great! Unless you're one of those—ahem!—parents who spoil the good sense out of their children. You know who we're talking about. Really? What kid needs her own mini-mansion? Or a diamond-encrusted...anything? Don't blame the kids; this stuff starts at birth. Baby can't help it!

Flight1

We all know families where a serious illness has taken over. Hospitals, tests, surgeries, recovery, waiting, worrying....It's a horrible thing for any family to go through. The worst part, no matter who's the patient, is what happens to the kids involved. Suddenly, everything is scary and serious. It's like their childhood has been cut short. Uh-oh, this feels like a bummer of  a post already. Flight1 to the rescue!
Through interactions with pilots, aircraft, and aviation programs, Flight1 brings joy and confidence to children whose families are affected by serious illnesses. Courageous Fliers is the primary program of Flight1. The Courageous Fliers program strives to introduce 100 children, annually, to the world of aviation. More than just a plane ride, the program introduces children to different aircraft, the skills to be a pilot and the joy of flight. The program is a year round engagement with in the aviation community that may include tours, air show, and much more.

Well, we feel better already. The amazing part? Aside from, you know, FLYING through the air like a bird when you're so clearly not a bird? Flight1 happens thanks to good Hoosiers giving their time to others. Kids get the experience of a lifetime, volunteers get the satisfaction that comes from making a difference. Everybody wins!

Patriots/Red Sox Cornhole Boards

A handy customer writes:
We thought you might like to see how we used the Patriots and Red Sox stickers recently purchased from your company. We made Cornhole boards for our daughter's school auction. We have to admit most of the folks around here hadn't heard of Cornhole but once you play it you are hooked. We wanted to share some southern fun with New England since moving here ten years ago. The theme involved professional sport teams and living on Cape Cod well...we had to do the Patriots and Red Sox. I embroidered the bags with the team logos. Then our family cut, sanded, drilled, screwed, and painted the boards but they still needed your stickers to complete the look.  We hope you enjoy our creation and the use of STICKERGIANT stickers.

We love it and thank you for choosing StickerGiant. May the best team win!

Gift Ideas: Kids

Kids Love Stickers

Kids Love Stickers

[Dear Readers, we no longer offer retail stickers like these Disney stickers, but we do offer an awesome website to order your own custom stickers.]

So it's gift-giving time and we're here with one idea: get 'em stickers! Kind of obvious for a sticker company on a sticker blog, right? But stickers are a good idea. They don't cost much, they're colorful and the giftee gets to user his or her creativity when they stick 'em.

For instance, kids love stickers. I know: I gave stickers to my nieces and nephews a couple of years ago and they loved 'em. There's so many themes and patterns available that you're bound to find stickers that are just perfect for the kids you have in mind. For instance we carry a line of Disney stickers, so they can have fun with their favorite Disney and Pixar characters. Visit our kids' section for lots more ideas.

That's four, count 'em, four exclamation marks. That is joy. StickerGiant can do that for ya. Big thanks to our Little League mom in the Lone Star State for the pic and the compliment.
