Q&A with Peter Askew

What do people really dig about your product/services?:

One aspect folks really enjoy about the dude ranch vacation industry is the amount of activities guests can enjoy during a visit - from horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, bonfires, hayrides, and in some locations even trap/skeet, spa visits, & river rafting!

I can't leave out the scenery, though.. Most ranches are nestled in remote areas where the surrounding scenery can take your breath away, and really helps visitors relax during a vacation stay.

Because of this, dude ranch vacations have often been described as 'Summer Camp for Adults' : )

Who are the awesome people behind the curtain at your company/project and what do they do?:

I guess you'd call me the jack-of-all trades here, as I'm the webmaster and pull all the levers behind the scenes.

Additionally, though, I spend a good bit of my time helping spread the word for the dude ranch vacation industry, and help educate those who might not understand how much the industry has evolved over the years into an amazing group & family vacation destination.

Why/How do you use stickers as a marketing or outreach tactic?:

We use stickers as a marketing & outreach tactic because we appreciate their tangible aspects. We're a digital company, and our product is information, so the more we can connect, tangibly, with our current & potential customers, the better.

What advice would you give to a company thinking about using stickers as a marketing tactic to wow their fans. What has worked for you, what hasn’t, etc?:

We found that stickers helped further establish our brand and solidified our position within our industry.

And from a return-on-investment standpoint, one of the best bangs-for-our-buck..

List some ways that fans can support your brand to encourage growth apart from buying your product or service?:

Other ways that fans can help support Us? By spreading the word about the dude ranch vacation industry!

With dude ranch locations ranging from rustic to *truly* resort/luxury, the industry can accommodate virtually all types of clientele..

Can you leave links to your social media outlets so that our community can get social with you?:

The Palometa Club

Watchoo lookin' at there, Fish? You looking for trouble? Turns out old Gilly McGoogleEye is the unofficial mascot of the Palometa Club, way down in Mexico. Um, have you seen their website? What a beautiful place! Sign us up! We'll even share a bunk with the fish!
The Palometa Club is an exclusive fly fishing lodge on the northeastern edge of the famed permit and bonefish flats of Ascension Bay in Yucatan, Mexico. Entering its seventh season of operation, the Club has also quickly become one of the most respected fly fishing lodges in the Caribbean for serious flats anglers. We operate out of a comfortable six-bedroom lodge located on the picturesque ocean-side beach of the unique lobster fishing village of Punta Allen, Mexico. Anglers can book fully-inclusive, week-long fishing packages (which include transportation from Cancun) in their quest for permit, bonefish, tarpon, snook and more. Non-anglers can enjoy snorkeling, guided eco tours and archeological trips as the Palometa Club is situated within the famed Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a 1.3 million acre World Heritage Site known for its rich marine environment, exotic birds and tropical wildlife, and vast array of Mayan ruins.

Does anything sound better at the end of February than a warm-weather getaway? We've run out of hot chocolate, the streets are full of snow, and the St. Bernard has stopped delivering. Will winter never end? Sigh. All we want is a little sun, sand, surf, and the chance to hang with SpongeBob under a palapa. Not to mention all the ceviche we can eat. Sorry, fish, but facts is facts....and the truth is: you look marvelous.
