Matrix Robotics

Coming soon to a basement workshop near you: A fully programmable, LEGO-integrated robot of your own crafting, courtesy of MATRIX Robotics.
MATRIX Robotics was created in 2011 by a group of experienced robotics enthusiasts who have spent the past 15 years working and playing with robots. The people at MATRIX set out to design the robotics system they’ve always wanted and the result was the MATRIX Robotics System; a high quality, affordable, 3D build system. The people at MATRIX Robotics created this innovative system because they believe that hands on robotics is a great way to learn science, technology, engineering and math and are committed to making robotics accessible to more students worldwide. MATRIX products can be purchased through local distributors.

Sweet! Word is, the goods are coming out later this year. We can hardly wait! Can't you just imagine all the kids who will build a robot just to tease their sister, brother, cat, or dog? Simultaneously? Next thing you know, we've got robots everywhere. In the kitchen. At Burning Man. Yep, even in the litter box. Not even the dance floors of our fair country will be safe.

Ignite Vegas

Ignite Vegas is but one of many outposts of the Ignite community. Since the first event was held in Seattle five years ago, Ignite has seen entrepreneurs, techies, creatives, thinkers, and all-around show-boaters hop on stages all over the world for their 5 minutes of fame (thereby proving that not everything that happens in Vegas stays there).
Fast-paced, fun, thought-provoking, social, local, global—Ignite is all of these and more. It’s a high-energy evening of 5-minute talks by people who have an idea—and the guts to get onstage and share it with our Las Vegas community. Run by local volunteers who are connected through the global Ignite network, Ignite is a force for raising the collective IQ and building connections in each city. And, via streaming and archived videos of local talks, local Ignites share all that knowledge and passion with the world. Oh – we also like beer.

Sounds like fun and like one of those events where anything could happen!

Not that Vegas really needs any more flash, glitz, or combustible material. They've got that whole "wow factor" thing unlocked, dontcha think?

API Hack Day

This is where the magic happens: making stickers for the people who make the Internets go 'round.
API Hack Day brings developers together for an all-day coding fest focused on building apps with APIs. Developers of all experience levels can share ideas, collaborate on projects, start new ventures and find out about great tools and new APIs to play with. API Hack Day events are sponsored by a core group of companies that are built on and around APIs, including Mashery, Twilio, Apigee, SimpleGeo, and SendGrid.

The next API Hack Day is going to be in sunny and beautiful Boulder, Colorado.  That's right in StickerGiant's back yard!

WordCamp Portland 2011

Another fine WordCamp weekend, this time in groovy left coast town of Portland, Oregon. WordCamp Portland was another successful gathering—and StickerGiant was proud to be a part of it.
WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamps are open to WordPress.com and WordPress.org users alike.

You know what? In our next life, we'd like to come back as a professional WordCamp camper. You know, traveling from city to city, hanging out with nice peeps, learning stuff, drinking great beer, and sampling local cuisine (bacon maple doughnut FTW!). Sounds nice, doesn't it?

WordCamp LA2011

Hey, happy campers! It's time for another WordCamp extravaganza, this time in the City of Angels. In just a few short days, the WordPress lovers in California's most populous city will gather to get their blogging groove on.
WordCamp is a conference type of event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these events. These events are usually highlighted by speeches or keynotes by various people.

We suggest leaving the tent and sleeping bag at home and packing your sleekest, sexiest tech accessories instead. Geek chic, anyone?

WordCamp San Francisco

WordCamp San Francisco is the big daddy of the super-popular geek gatherings put on by the good folks behind WordPress and they love their swag!

Sounds cool, right? And you want to go, right? Well...you can't. It's already SOLD OUT (kind of). Don't worry: there are lots more WordCamps coming up. And for the record, StickerGiant loves WordPress! They're why our blog looks so great and works so well. Turns out, code IS poetry.
