Sara's Li Hing Mui-Spiced Popcorn

Von and Sara love to play Go Fish, he is not very good though. His big paws knock the cards everywhere, and Sara doesn't think he actually knows what's going on. They do have lots of laughs and giggles though! During game night (well most nights) Sara love’s to eat popcorn. Von is not allowed to have popcorn, but he sneaks in some bites here and there.

 

 

Mixing-Spoon-Icon-for-StickerGiant-Cookbook Ingredients

Spice

1/2 tsp Garlic powder

2 tsp Li hing mui

1/2 tsp Onion powder

1/8 Cayenne pepper

1 tsp Kosher salt

 

Popcorn

3 Tbsp coconut oil (peanut oil, vegetable oil, canola oil)

½ cup popcorn kernels (1/2 cup = 110 g)

1/2 tsp salt

In a 5-6 Qt covered pot (Sara’s favorite: Whirley Pop Popcorn Maker) add oil popcorn kernels and salt.

Heat on medium heat, shake pot occasionally until popped.

Remove from heat and uncover.

Alternate between sprinkling Li Hing Mui mixture over popped popcorn a little at a time and mixing until all popcorn is covered to your taste.
