Erika's Tony T Bars

The Tony T Bar is famous among many campers at a backpacking camp based out of the small town of Creede, Colorado. This was one of my favorite desserts that we took on trail with us since it was fairly lightweight and can stand the test of being smashed at the bottom of a backpack. The name Tony T comes from the famous Tiger we all know and love from the breakfast cereal, Frosted Flakes (though the more plain version is used in this recipe). The marshmallow and peanut butter goodness can make anybody's camping trip not just good, but GREAT!

16 ounce bag marshmallows

¾ cup peanut butter

½ cup butter

9 to 11 cups corn flakes

Place a large pot on low heat on the stovetop.

Melt butter and then add marshmallows.

Melt the marshmallows completely, stirring on low heat.

Once melted, add peanut butter or nut butter of choice and stir until completely mixed together.

Remove from the heat and add in the cornflakes.

Slowly mix together until all cornflakes are coated with the mixture.

Quickly pour on a baking sheet or in a baking tray.

Smooth the mixture out to about a 1/4” thickness or as thick as you desire.

Let cool and cut into squares. Enjoy!
