Facilities Maintenance Assistant at StickerGiant

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant is a blended role that is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of all StickerGiant facilities and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities

  • Support the Sr. Equipment Specialist with all facilities-related tasks such as maintenance, repair, and build of production equipment and machines to ensure all equipment and the facility runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Heating and cooling system maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting  
  • Install and maintain facility lighting
  • Office desk(s) and chair(s) assembly, event setup and tear down, move furniture and workstations
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and debris-free facility at all times  
  • Support facility security including preparing for fire inspections and making improvements where necessary
  • Assist with trash and pallet disposal
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for electrical, HVAC, plumbing services, or other facility need
  • Occasional snow removal before normal operating hours
  • Provide on-call support for emergency situations - see below for more information

Material Handling

  • Support raw materials receiving process including vendor/order inspection, safe forklift and/or pallet jack operation, move and store raw materials safely and securely in accordance with OSHA regulations and facility safety rules
  • Handle all material (hazardous and non-hazardous) organization and storage for HP Indigo printer operators
  • Help load and unload truck deliveries utilizing a sit-down forklift
  • Support material inventory and ordering process
  • Handle trash and pallet disposal

Mechanical Technologies

  • Maintain both heavy and light electrical systems, circuits, and loads across the facility
  • Handle all machinery installation, setup, and disassembly on large scale digital printing machines and finishing machines
  • Design the machine layout including electrical and air consumption plans
  • Handle delivery process including crating, unpacking, rigging, moving equipment using a forklift
  • Maintain air and pneumatics requirements for all air motors, cylinders, switches, and spindles to ensure accurate pressure regulation and water extraction cycles
  • Troubleshoot machine wiring schematics and machine pressure issues
  • Lead machine shop services including custom part design, prototyping, fabrication, soldering, welding
  • Maintain safe and effective equipment on all belts, pulleys, slides, extraction systems
  • Basic knowledge of printing and finishing equipment such as lasers, scan heads, galvo motors, power supplies is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Completion of High School education or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Active Certified Forklift Driver
  • Working knowledge of forklift operation, pallet jack, cart manufacturing, and rack placement for speed and safety
  • Knowledge of mechanical operation, manufacturing processes, and procedures is strongly preferred
  • Superb attention to detail and equipment safety procedures
  • OSHA training (10-hour card or higher) preferred but not required
  • Excitement and drive to learn and grow professionally with StickerGiant

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Duties require standing (excluding breaks and lunch) throughout working shift for 8 to 10 hours
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, bending, and overhead reaching
  • Frequent walking, grasping and gripping
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Move up and down steps and ladders
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

POSITION SCHEDULE DETAILS

  • Monday-Friday
  • Day shift (will range between 7:00 am-5:00 pm), please inquire for more details
  • This position will start as part-time (25-35 hours/week) and move into a full-time position (40 hours/week), please inquire for more details
  • Position requires being on-call for weekend and weekday second shift for instances of emergency facility support, machine maintenance support, snow removal, fire hazard, or another natural disaster recovery
