Clear Labels are transparent product labels finished on rolls that let your packaging show through while keeping branding clean and minimal.

Ideal For

  • Product labeling where the container should remain visible
  • Bottles, jars, and containers made of glass or clear plastic
  • Food, beverage, cosmetic, and personal care packaging
  • Retail and ecommerce packaging with a premium, “no-label” look
  • Brands that want subtle, modern labeling without a solid background

When to Choose Clear Labels

  • When you want a transparent label that blends into the container
  • Best for packaging where the product itself is part of the presentation
  • Ideal when white ink is used selectively to control opacity and contrast
  • A strong choice for clean, minimal designs finished on rolls for easy application

Most print issues come from artwork setup. Getting these details right helps ensure clean cuts, accurate color, and smooth production.

Clear Label artwork notes

  • Clear Labels use white ink to control opacity.
  • Your file should be fully vector or include a transparent background for any areas you want to remain clear.
  • If you need specific transparent or semi-transparent effects, add details in Special Instructions.
  • Need step-by-step help? See How to Setup Artwork for Clear Stickers and Labels in Adobe Illustrator in the Help Center.

Frequently Asked Questions

    What Are Clear Labels?

Clear Labels are transparent product labels made from clear BOPP material that allow your packaging to show through. They create a clean, “no-label” look and are finished on rolls for easy application.

Want more details? Learn more about Clear Labels in our Help Center.

What’s the difference between Clear Labels and Clear Stickers?

Clear Labels are roll-based and designed for product labeling, whether applied by hand or machine. They’re best for consistent placement on bottles, jars, and packaging.

Clear Stickers are more flexible in format - individuals (die cut), sticker sheets, or sticker rolls (kiss cut) - and are often used for promotions or giveaways. If you’re labeling products for retail or fulfillment, Clear Labels are the better fit.

What’s the difference between Clear Glossy and Clear Matte Labels?

The difference is in finish, glare, and visual effect, not durability.

Clear Glossy Labels have a shiny, transparent finish that enhances color vibrancy and creates a “no-label” look on glass and clear containers. Best for bold branding, beverages, and retail products that rely on shelf shine.

Clear Matte Labels have a soft, satin finish that reduces glare and slightly diffuses transparency for a more subtle, premium look. Best for minimalist designs, upscale packaging, or products viewed under bright lighting.

Do Clear Labels show air bubbles on glass?

Clear Labels can show air bubbles if applied too quickly or to a dusty or textured surface. For best results, apply slowly to clean, smooth glass using firm, even pressure. Matte clear labels can help reduce the visibility of bubbles compared to glossy finishes.

What size should my label be?

StickerGiant offers custom label sizes from 0.5" × 0.5" to 11" × 14", so the best size depends on your product and where the label will be applied.

    Common size references:

    • 1 inch (about the size of a quarter): Small containers or subtle branding
    • 2 inches (about the size of an Oreo): Jars, bottles, and everyday product packaging
    • 2 × 3.5 inch (business card size): Front or back labels for larger packaging

If you’re unsure, cut a piece of paper to size and place it on your product where the label will be applied. You’ll always receive a proof to confirm sizing before printing.

Need help deciding, check out our "What Size Should My Sticker or Label Be" guide.

    Are Clear Labels water resistant?

Yes. Clear Labels are water resistant and also resist oil and everyday surface wear. They perform well with brief moisture exposure, but are not designed for long term submersion or prolonged outdoor use.

Need more detail? Read our full explanation of water resistant vs waterproof stickers.

    Are Clear Labels dishwasher safe?

Clear Labels are water resistant and durable, but not dishwasher safe. Repeated dishwasher cycles can affect the laminate over time. For best results, we recommend hand washing.

Can I get my labels fast?

Yes. Most orders print in 2–5 business days after proof approval. If you need your labels sooner, Rush Printing is available on most products and prints within 1 business day after proof approval.

Rush Printing affects production time only. Shipping speed is selected separately at checkout, and availability depends on production capacity.
