Director of Innovation and Technology

The Director of Innovation and Technology is responsible for the overall strategic vision and execution of StickerGiant’s Innovation and Technology (IT) solutions which span complex business operations, data, security and information services.  

This is a unique opportunity to join a leadership team meeting the challenges and strategic needs of a rapidly growing company.  

In this role, you are a catalyst for the forward direction and success of StickerGiant.    

You know IT requirements, project tools, software development and networking like the back of your hand and you are equally a natural leader who can champion a big idea with senior leaders.  You have embraced people as your most valuable asset and the health of your team is key for delivering something beyond expectation. You constantly seek new ideas and solutions to operational problems for continuous improvement.  At your core, you are a collaborator and a proven thought partner at all levels of the company.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Responsibilities

  • Website 40%

    • Maintain and implement existing e-commerce website and internal proprietary system with zero down-time and effectively mitigate risk exposure

    • Oversee information systems security including creating a policy and risk management framework including vulnerability management and threat analysis

    • Plan (systems architecture), build (webdev), test and implement a new e-commerce website

    • Collaborate with Marketing team to deliver a best-in-class customer experience via front-end website

  • ERP and CRM 30%

    • Evaluate, recommend and implement ERP and CRM solutions for short and long-term operational improvement and automation

    • Develop requirements for workflow processes for internal software platform using best practices from continuous improvement methodologies

  • IT Roadmap 30%

    • Create and execute the overall IT Architecture for StickerGiant which will guide the technical vision, lifecycle and roadmap to assist all aspects of our customers and internal operations

 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Vital member of StickerGiant’s leadership team responsible for scaling rapid growth and solid profitability; position reports to COO

  • Servant people leader; lead, mentor, and develop a growing and dynamic IT team to effectively deliver services for internal teams as well as direct customers  

  • Drive and oversee productivity metrics, financial forecasting and costs related to IT support and services

  • Execute, monitor and enforce the IT governance, incident investigations, standards and policies across the organization

  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure integration and efficiency of technology solutions and security initiatives

 

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Technology or related discipline preferred

  • Minimum of 7-9 years of related work-related experience in a similar role plus 3 years of team leadership

  • SCRUM Master preferred

  • FileMaker or other relational database management system

  • Training in Lean Principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Leadership

    • Strong track record of people leadership, especially overseeing and developing people and teams with a “servant leadership” practice

    • Demonstrated success in collaborative style decision making, mentoring and coaching team members for professional growth

    • Adaptability to work under pressure, sometimes with competing deadlines and schedules

  • Collaboration

    • Experience using a decision-making matrix at team, stakeholder and executive levels

    • Commitment to customers by effectively solving problems quickly and effectively

  • Technology & Systems Architecture

    • Expertise leading technology projects using best practice project management tools

    • Subject matter expertise in workflow automation and continuous improvement of systems and processes

    • Experience with website technologies and relational database preferred

    • Advanced knowledge of IT systems, network administration, network security, network protocols, database frameworks, and cybersecurity methods for an eCommerce company preferred

    • Analytical mindset; ability to evaluate technology solutions using values-based rigor

    • Awareness of legal and regulatory compliance for IT systems

  • Entrepreneurial mindset 

    • Ability to think creatively, seek input and feedback from others, and stay in “learning mode” when seeking possible solutions

    • Adaptable to learn and lead with StickerGiant business frameworks influenced by Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and Open Book Management (OBM)
