Imagine -- you pour your heart and soul into an essay about the modern cultural significance of bodily-process infographics in advertising, only it's not just an essay, it's kind of a free-form meditation on the interplay between the human body and commercialized medicine, with catchy songs, even. It seems perfect for The Normal School, doesn't it? That's your favorite new quirky literary magazine, full of award-nominated authors and distinctive voices and such. Aaaanndd... what you end up with is this beautiful sticker, proudly stating "I was rejected by The Normal School." At least that's something, right? Right?
