Sparkle City Comics

The best in the comic book game, Sparkle City Comics is buying and selling comics and adding in their own comic style logo design into the mix in the form of kiss cut stickers.

The brand of Sparkle City Comics predates the age of the internet and digital comics going back to its start in 1976 and rise to be the nation's top dealer until the early 1990's. It was a time when comic books were rising in popularity but had not begun to gain the collectible value they hold today. Distribution was minimal and through back issue mail orders and comic conventions, Sparkle City Comics worked hard to get more comic books out in the world.

Sparkle City Comics was revived in 2011 by Brian Schutzer, who purchased his first vintage comic book from Sparkle City at a convention in New York City. In their rise back to the pinnacle of the hobby, they have been using custom logo stickers to reestablish their brand. We love the super hero characters they use in their designs which makes for an eye catching sticker with all their contact information on it too.

Sparkle City is flying high with fun stickers to regain that top spot in collecting comics.

Stories That Stick with Magnetic Press

Magnetic Press

Illustrations by Federico Bertolucci

That's right, "stories that stick." We swear it is not our line... unfortunately. Magnetic Press is a publishing label that helps creators get their stories spread around the world so that they stick with people.

Magnetic Press is a fantastic way for authors, illustrators and creators to have an outlet and support to get their work published. They not only do the editorial and production but they allow the creator to work hand in hand with them to create their own unique branding. Magnetic Press primarily publishes graphic novels, but they have also done illustrated card decks and offer a variety of items for fans including cards, calendars, bookmarks and sticker sheets.

One of their recent releases was the second volume in an ongoing series by Federico Bertolucci, Love: The Fox.
“It’s not easy being one of the smaller predators in the woods, competing with an entire woodland population for scraps along the food chain. But when nature throws cataclysmic weather into the mix, it becomes a race for survival… and Love."

In addition to the beautiful publication and design of the book, they took a series of images from the story and created a full page custom sticker sheet with each visual having it's own custom shaped, peel off sticker. They are available for sale through Magnetic Press and are a great sticky showcase of the design and story behind Love: The Fox.

Check out this trailer behind the stickers and novel that is Love: The Fox:

Don't let artistic creations live in only one place, sticker sheets are a great addition to publications.

Scott Pilgrim is back! Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel released yesterday for sale and is offering everything Scott Pilgrim fans love... STICKERS... and awesome artistic storytelling, of course.

Scott Pilgrim is a series of graphic novels, originally released as a black and white series of six starting back in 2004. Oni Press started releasing these graphic novels in full color in 2012.

So Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour, what's the story?

"SCOTT PILGRIM has faced down six of Ramona Flowers's evil exes but now that the happy couple is no more, was it even worth it? And if Scott and Ramona aren't together, then why do the ominous messages from Gideon Graves keep coming? This the end of the SCOTT PILGRIM saga like you've never seen it before--in full glorious color with a bevy of extras. This is truly SCOTT PILGRIM'S FINEST HOUR."

The fantastic part of these Scott Pilgrim color releases is getting to print the full color stickers that are included in the Collector's Edition of Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour.

Gumby and Pokey, Wherefore Art Thou?

Gumby and Pokey in the Field of Dreams

Was there ever a more flexible fellow than Gumby?

Born the eternally adaptable brainchild of California filmmaker Art Clokey, the Gumby series originally ran on the NBC network, with the first episodes appearing on the Howdy Doody Show in the mid 1950s.

Our little green friend isn't just known for his elastic stunts, but for his emotional malleability. Perhaps not pliable in every sense of the word, but truly bendable, no matter the inevitable challenge ... and there's always a challenge ... like this episode where he was kidnapped by the evil Blockheads and turned into a robot:

"Blessed are the flexible," the saying goes "for they shall not be bent out of shape."

We salute Gumby, Pokey, Goo and Prickle for their decades of service, helping to make the world a better place. You don't have to be Mr. Fantastic to know that the ability to bend with the times and roll with the punches is a key not just to survival, but to happiness.

If patience is a virtue, flexibility is truly a blessing.
