Lifestylez Tours Use Custom Shapes to Get Stoked for POWder and Snodaze

It's officially smack dab in the middle of winter, and for many that means hitting the slopes. To keep the stoke high for their trips and tours, Lifestylez has printed up a slew of custom shapes using our custom shaped die cut stickers. They will be perfect for their customers and will help their global brand travel even farther.

The POW sticker, for Purveyors of Winter, uses a glossy finish and a mix of cyan, white and black. This harkens to the classification of colors of ski runs that you'll find on resort mountain slopes. See the other designs they came up with below. It's a great use of different shapes and design styles.

The company, Lifestylez Productions, represents a variety of ski and snowboarding tours to college and alumni groups. They offer travel packages for ski vacations to major mountain resorts in North America and Switzerland, and they offer internships to college students to stay in touch with their community.

Lifstylez has been doing this for over 20 years and taken over 400,000 college students and young alumni to ski resorts and sun destinations. They know how important it is to make a lasting impression. By introducing young adults to outdoor experiences and focusing on college towns, they have a focused audience and a market that they can grow for their services.

By building programs and events for students and young alumni, they can offer a range of places to give out stickers, from après ski gatherings and concerts to a variety of on and off mountain events and contests. It's a great way to differentiate the creative aspect of your logo from your competitors. They have these five other designs, with some great use of our laser die cutter to get those mountain peaks and the cool tires on the cat ski mobile. From simple, yet classic logo stickers to promotional and event-based stickers, Lifestylez is covering their bases for an expert-level marketing effort.

Winter Ready Outdoor Durable Polypropylene Material

If you've spent any time on a chairlift or bombing down black runs, you'll know that stickers plaster the chairs, helmets, lift lines and signs all over the mountain. Now, we're proud supporters of green business, and do our best in our own work (as we say, Please Stick Responsibly), yet stickers help promote the many brands participating in the culture around skiing. They make a great take-home for customers shopping at the store or eating in the restaurant at the resort. Specifically, these stickers they've chosen are printed in full color on our white polypropylene material that comes finished with UV laminate for outdoor durability, meaning they will hold up on those lift poles and gear boxes for years to come.

If you need logo stickers or promotional stickers, we have many custom choices to get started.

Sticker Stories Podcast Episode 5: The power of hemp for wellness and matte labels with Dani Billings of Nature's Root

Welcome back to episode 5 of the Sticker Stories Podcast. We have a fun show today with a special guest, plus it’s Friday the 13th! Beautiful fall day here in Longmont, Colorado, and we are feeling the autumn spirit around the office as it’s decorated for Halloween.

Top of Mind

Hamish spoke about our new partnership with Ignite Talks. We wrote about this exciting development earlier this week. For those of you that haven’t heard about or attended an Ignite talk, the way they work is each speaker gets 20 slides, which change every 15 seconds, and they have this time to talk about a topic of their choice. These talks take place all over the world, so we encourage you to go online, check out some of the past videos and if you can attend an event.

The topics range from professional wrestling, emojis, beat boxing, phobias, even Star Wars. They’re often funny, always informative, think fast paced Ted talks with a humorous twist. We have been a long time sponsor for the Ignite Boulder event and have recently extended our partnership to become the global sponsor, providing event stickers for all Ignite Talks around the world.

Andrew brought us some tips and tricks for taking better pictures of stickers. He covered some of the basics you can see below, and by the way we are by no means pros at studio product photography, but it’s something we do every day. We love to share sticker stories through visual storytelling.

  • Get close

  • Good lighting

  • Watch glare - especially with glossy stickers and labels

  • Framing

  • Negative space

  • A nice background that’s not too distracting, nor boring

  • Catch a moment

  • Sticker mashups of different styles of stickers and locations. Mix it up!

Sticker Story: Nature's Root

This week we are really happy to welcome on Dani Billings, President of Nature’s Root. They create hemp based-therapeutic and beauty products that are great for the consumer and also the planet. They are unique because they have combined a retail shop with the world’s first hemp infused spa. Dani told us all about Nature’s Root and her career in the hemp industry, which is rapidly growing here in Colorado. Her background began in the organic edible industry with Tastee Yummees and then transitioned into a partnership with Cheeba Chews.

She started the business with her mom, and then mid 2011, she and her mom/business partner went in different directions when they sold their signature recipe and moved out of the medical marijuana industry and into the hemp CBD industry. She became certified in massage therapy and esthetics and the Hemp Spa idea was born. At that point, she and her mom got back together in business, and Dani is a promoter of the family-run business, and their experience has been positive. She also started the Colorado Hemp Project in 2012, which is a consultancy that provides resources, seeds & strains, distribution about sharecropping and then provides information on cannabinoids and medical uses as well. Her family always had a background in agriculture, in particular cannabis and hemp. Then we spoke about her choice and design of matte labels for their products, which was a fun part of the conversation. You'll have to listen to the whole interview above to get the gist of it.

Custom Stickers Help Huckleberry Roasters turn their Coffee Fans into Brand Ambassadors

We sat down with Koan Goedman, one of the co-founders and co-owners of Huckleberry Roasters in Denver, Colorado. Huckleberry was founded in 2011 by Mark Mann and Goedman. They have one location in operation and another opening in winter of 2018

A little about Huckleberry

Huckleberry is a coffee company that has a retail side of the business that is a traditional coffee shop, and then they also have a wholesale side of the business where they roast their own coffee. They distribute to partners locally, nationally and even internationally.

What's different is that they roast and brew and serve really tasty coffee, and do it in a way that is approachable for people who are perhaps a little unfamiliar or even scared of specialty third wave coffee. At the same time, on the other end of the spectrum, there is the more advanced coffee drinker---and Goedman says this with affection--"the coffee-nerd type of folks." Huckleberry has coffees that are super exciting for those customers as well.

They even hold Coffee Workshops, which are the place to learn everything you always wanted to know about coffee. From seed to cup, the Workshop will have classes on the history of coffee, home brewing, espresso, milk steaming and drink building, sensory analysis, and more.

How Huckleberry uses stickers

Goedman says they started using StickerGiant very early in their company's history, and that they use them like most companies do--for marketing. They printed up logo stickers and icon stickers, and for them it's a fun way to give somebody something physical to take with them. The ideal goal is when the sticker gets slapped on something like a water bottle because that is exposure that businesses dream of getting, and stickers are a nice way to start a conversation.

For the team at Huckleberry, stickers are a nice way for their customers to become ambassadors the brand without having to over-do it with marketing.

Longmont Meals on Wheels Makes a Difference with Every Delivery

Meals-on-wheels-stickergiant-2017-bag-teamHere's one of those times where we want to talk community involvement and more than just stickers. We've worked with Longmont Meals on Wheels for three years, and just last week we were awarded our first Community Involvement Award through the Longmont Economic Development Partnership based on our collaboration.

We wanted to recognize the work that they do to provide hot, nutritious meals and a daily check in for older adults and people with disabilities in Longmont and Niwot. And they've been doing it since 1969! Through Meals on Wheels, this home-bound population is able to maintain their independence, health, and dignity. Longmont Meals on Wheels has provided this service without any state or federal funding due to continued support of the community, and that's why we wanted to join forces.

One of StickerGiant's yearly commitments involves community engagement, and most of the time we provide in-kind sponsorships and donations. Back in 2014, we reached out to them to find out where we could help. Since then, we have donated money and volunteer time to help with holiday gifts and emergency food bags.

The last two years, we bought the supplies and all the employees helped package up gifts for the seniors they help. This year we helped pack up emergency food bags for home deliveries, for when there's a major snow storm that doesn't allow drivers out to make deliveries. The bags feature one of our oval stickers that has the Meals on Wheels logo with a winter background, which helps those folks know where their meals came from.

Meet Hamish: Mountain Biker, Pay Per Click Analyst and the "English Guy in the Office"

Get to know a little more about another member of Team StickerGiant. Meet Hamish.

Hamish is our PPC (Pay Per Click) Analyst here at StickerGiant working on the Marketing Team. His job is to make sure StickerGiant is visible in searches related to custom stickers and labels. He also manages our advertisements on various social media channels. There is a good chance if you found out about us on Google or Facebook, Hamish is the one who led you to our site to order your awesome stickers and labels.

Check out this quick video with Hamish:

Hello, I'm Hamish and this is my sticker story.

What do you do?
I am the Pay Per Click Analyst at StickerGiant. That means "Pay Per Click," so I specialize in paid search advertising. I also run the Facebook, social media paid advertising and co-host the podcast with Andrew.

What's your story?
I'm the English guy in the office, so I was born in the UK (United Kingdom) but actually moved to Philadelphia when I was a little kid, so I grew up there before moving to Taiwan for another four years and then ended up back in the UK when I was nine years old. So I'm kind of the ex-pat kid. Um.. I did College in England and then came out to America and married my high school sweetheart and ended up back here in Colorado. So, I'm probably the travel guy, I guess, is usually what I tell people.

How long have you been with StickerGiant?
So I started in StickerGiant at the beginning of March (2017). I've been here for three months and my background originally is in chemistry. I have a chemistry and business degree, so I guess that's how I got into data analytics and doing stuff with Google Analytics, Google Adwords and things like that, so I guess taking the science-y side of things and dealing with lots of numbers and then combining that with business stuff and doing online marketing now.

What's your favorite part about your role?
My favorite part about my job is definitely the Command Center, this room is awesome. We have a ton of screens, we have a ton of data and for a numbers nerd like myself, it's really awesome to work with all this information to be able to make really smart decisions and yeah, definitely working with an awesome team as well.

Tell us more.
I'm definitely a big outdoor advocate. Love riding my mountain bike and spending as much time in the great outdoors, so definitely part of the reason I moved to Colorado. I'm pretty stoked to keep it up.

Custom Labels just Got FASTER

Launching a new product and forgot that final touch? We've got your back. We are excited to announce that our Custom Labels just got a faster turnaround time. Our Glossy White Labels and Matte Labels are now available with a one day turnaround time.

What does turnaround time mean? If you submit an order for either of these label products, the production time starts ticking once you approve your artwork proof. If it's approved by 12pm MT your labels will be printed and shipped the next business day.

Our goal is to make it easy to get custom stickers and labels fast. To make this happen we had to get some new printing and finishing equipment for our production facility here in Longmont, Colorado. Here is a timelapse video of our new HP printer being installed and running.
